Current Research Interests:   Ergonomics: Implications on Computer End-users in Private vs. Government Organizations in Pakistan.

Scope
My research focuses particularly on an ergonomically designed computer-based environment, and what implications it has on the employees. I will investigate the role of ergonomics in a Government Organization vs. a Private Organization of Pakistan, and see how it effects employee productivity and morale.

My research paper would cover the following issues:

  • Definition of Ergonomics.
  • How ergonomics is applied to computer-based work environments.
  • Ergonomics in relation to Human-Computer Interaction: Its significance.
  • Level of awareness towards ergonomically designed computer systems and environments, and how much of importance is given to this area. This would include interviewing various personnel at top & middle-level management to analyze the role of ergonomics in local organizations, and its use when designing computer-based work environments.

  • Importance of ergonomics, taking into account the factors which directly contribute towards design of computer systems based on human and environmental factors.

  • Comparison of a Private Organization with a Government Organization, and what effects ergonomics has on the workforce.

  • Problems arising due to poor ergonomics in computer systems: these would include health & safety issues, frequency of errors during work, especially in high-stress and mission-critical systems, and reduction in employee motivation & productivity.

  • Ergonomics & its significant implications for efficiency, productivity, safety and health.
