1- Country Program
Assessment for Pakistan. (2003)
This research provided technical input in the context of Canadian
International Development Agency (CIDA) Country Program Framework for
Pakistan. This study Undertook analytical review and assessment of
CIDA's policy framework for Pakistan and conducted background and
content research on political and macroeconomic development trends,
poverty, private sector development, agriculture and water, and
environment and sustainability.
2- Country Assessment
of Poverty: Macro-Micro Linkages: South Asia-Pakistan. (2002)
The purpose of this research is to find macro and micro determinants
of poverty. This paper analyzed the macro economic policies and their
influence on the poverty and inequality level in Pakistan. This paper
also analyzes micro level projects undertaken in Pakistan to reduce
poverty level. Why the micro level efforts were not successful in
Pakistan is also looked into the report. The report also takes both
internal and external factors into consideration which are supposed to
be the most important determinants of the failure of the performance of
international lending agencies like UNDP. This report assists the
Government of Pakistan to sort the links between the devolution plan and
poverty reduction.
3- Provincial Finance
Commission Sindh.
The purpose of this research was to develop Provincial finance
Commission for Sindh province. This includes how to resolve the issue of
vertical inequity between the Sindh government and the districts of
Sindh provinces. This also discusses the issue of horizontal equity the
distribution of recourses among the districts. This will be useful tool
in assisting the Government of Sindh for new devolution plan.
