It is with great deal of satisfaction and pride that I wish to announce that we have cleared the first major hurdle on our path to accreditation with highest quality assurance bodies. After a three year long process that consisted of Self Assessment Review based on the SAQS criteria and quality parameters; a visit and review by an external panel of peer reviewers from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh; subsequent vetting by SAQS Accreditation committee the Awarding Committee on 4th August 2011 decided to award SAQS ACCREDITATION to IBA for a period of five years—the maximum period allowed under the rules. This will entitle IBA to use “SAQS ACCREDITED” quality label.
“SAQS Accredited”, the highest standard of achievement for management schools, is a quality label which assures that the institution has benchmarked itself with leading global schools in the world in respect of continuous quality improvement. Quality parameters required to receive the SAQS accreditation include institutional mission and its alignment, faculty capability and composition, curricula quality, admission and delivery system, research and executive education, global and regional network promoting connections with the corporate world and making contributions to the community, and academic and physical infrastructure
I wish to thank all of you for your efforts to bring this award to IBA as it is the collective work of each one of you that has borne the fruit. I am particularly grateful to Dr. Nishat, Shehreena, Dr. Wasim, Fatima, Capt Zaheer and Shabana for the extraordinary efforts they made to make this happen. As I said to the media this is just the beginning of a long journey. The next hurdles i.e. securing the European (EQUIS) and the US (AACSB) accreditation are quite arduous to cross. I am sure with your efforts particularly in research outputs and publications where we lag behind and induction of more PhDs on our faculty we would be able to cross them too.
