What are the
minimum admission criteria for EMBA Programs?
Graduation (14 years education) / equivalent
qualification from HEC recognized university with at least 45%
marks or CGPA of 2.00 on the scale of 4.00 in
the terminal degree and 6 years post
qualification work experience.
Masters / 16 years
of education from HEC recognized university with
at least 45% marks in the terminal degree or
CGPA of 2.50 on the scale of 4.00 and 3 years’
post qualification work experience.
Satisfactory
performance in IBA aptitude test and interview.
Is there any
alternative to IBA aptitude test?
Yes.
The aptitude test requirement can be waived off
if a participant obtains 650 score in GMAT taken
during last two years.
Can I know the
contents of the IBA aptitude test?
Our
aptitude test consists of Mathematics and
English equal to the standard of GMAT.
Candidates are also required to write Essay.
Past entry test papers are available on IBA
website under Admissions 2011.
How many times I
can take the aptitude test?
We do
not have cap on aptitude test.
What if I clear
the test and my circumstances do not allow me to
join the program?
The
validity of the aptitude test is 16 months.
Does IBA take a
large number of participants?
Under
Executive MBA program we restrict each group
close to 30 in -service professionals.
Does IBA help
candidates for preparing aptitude test?
Yes.
The Executive MBA Program runs a Remedial
Course for Aptitude Test Preparation. For
further information please contact our office.
What kind of
experience is preferred?
We expect a formal
engagement in any organization for the office or
managerial work.
Does IBA accept
experience acquired during qualification?
No. Only post
qualification experience is accepted. However,
candidates with short fall of experience of up
to 6 months can register in certificate courses
whom credits are transferable.
Does IBA accept
foreign qualifications?
Yes.
Foreign qualifications are accepted, if
recognized from Higher Education Commission of
Pakistan (HEC). Participants are required to
provide equivalency certificates from HEC.
Is there any
possibility to transfer of credit?
A limited number of course credit exemptions may
be given to those students who have been
enrolled in degree programs at ranked foreign
universities. These exemptions shall be given on
case-to-case basis on the following criteria:
Course credits
must be from any of the top 50 universities
derived from the international rankings complied
by Shangri Jiao Tong University’s Institute of
Higher Education or by the Times Higher
Education Supplement (THES) or Quacquarlli
Symonds (QS) in the discipline applied for.
Course credits are also acceptable from Lahore
University of Management Sciences (LUMS).
Students must have
been enrolled in the degree programs of these
universities.
Is there any age
limit for EMBA?
No.
What is the
maximum duration to complete EMBA?
The maximum
duration to complete the program is 5 years.
Can I register in
two full length degree programs simultaneously?
As per
HEC and IBA’s policy a person cannot register in
two degree programs simultaneously.
Is there any
requirement of minimum CGPA during studies at
the IBA?
Yes. A participant must maintain a minimum CGPA
of 2.2 on a cumulative basis during his/her stay
at the IBA. Any student with a CGPA of less
than 2.00 is dropped out from the rolls of the
Institute. A student securing a CGPA between 2.0
and 2.2 is put up on probation for one semester.
Does Executive MBA
can lead to Ph. D?
Yes. It can lead to Ph. D. for further details

How many courses
are required for completing EMBA?
For completing EMBA, 18 courses, 2 research
projects and one Comprehensive Exam are
required.
Is there any
specialization / majors available?
At
present there is no specializations/major
available. However, participants are required to
take 3 electives from the portfolio of
electives, as per their specified requirements.
Can participants
of the course prolong his/her EMBA by taking
lesser course load?
Yes.
Depending on the special need/situation of the
participants, EMBA can be completed in five
years period by taking lesser course load.
Accordingly, the fee is to be paid on prorate
basis.
What is the
Program Fee?
The
total fee for Banking and Financial Service and
Corporate Manager Program is Rs.600,000/- while
for Executive – MBA for Public Sector Executive
is Rs.240,000/- The Fee can be paid in
installments.
Does IBA provide
any financial assistance to EMBA participants?
Since
the programs are designed for in-service
professionals, financial assistance is not
available for the EMBA programs. However, fees
can be paid in installments.
