IBA SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH IFC

Karachi, February 22, 2008: The Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) have recently entered into an agreement to provide state of the art teaching and training facilities in corporate governance to Pakistani students.

IBA is the first business university in Pakistan which has signed the cooperation agreement with the IFC __ an international organization whose aim is to promote private sector development and to enhance institutional capacity under the Pakistan Corporate Governance Project (PCGP).

According to the agreement, the IFC will assist the IBA to develop a curriculum on corporate governance for its various degree programs such as BBA, MS and MBA. Moreover, it will arrange workshops and resource material to train the IBA faculty for effective execution of these courses and assess their performance frequently to ensure world class teaching standards.

The IBA management is also planning to offer short courses on corporate governance for business executives. The courses will facilitate the corporate sector to promote good governance.
