The International Conference on Information and Communications Technologies (ICICT) was held on 23-24th July 2011. This was the 4th  time since 2005 that IBA has organized a broad based, multi-topic, fully reviewed conference on Information and Communications Technologies. Keynote speakers included Scholars from UK, USA, Canada, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and Denmark. The proceedings contained 33 original papers that were mainly the work of Higher Education Commission’s scholars carrying out PhD studies locally and abroad. There were over 68 research papers submitted in the ICICT 2011 and after a peer review by senior professors, 32 were accepted for oral presentations at the conference.  ICICT 2011 was the fourth in the series of biennial conferences organized by the Institute of Business Administration, Karachi, Pakistan. As in the three previous conferences of 2005, 2007 and 2009, ICICT 2011 also hosted senior professors, 26 from within Pakistan and abroad. It provided an opportunity for intellectual discussion amongst various stakeholders over a span of two days. The ICICT 2011 brought together the business and technology researchers in a complex paradigm where all of them were attempting to come up with innovative solutions to complex problems related to the information and communication technologies in front of an audience drawn from the academia and the industry. 

 

The conference was a major success with a large number of parallel sessions on networks, fibre optics, artificial intelligence, image processing etc. Presentations on a variety of ICT topics also included GSM Networks, 4G systems, Smart Antenna, Wireless sensor Networks, Human Agent Communication, Adaptive ATMs, Mobile Robot, Image Processing, Tele-Medical Image compression, UTMS and VoIP Solutions.
