IBA Corporate Leaders Advisory Board (ICLAB)

At IBA we believe in creating meaningful collaboration between the industry and academia so that all our programs should be reflective of their aspiration and needs. In order to ensure regular interaction with the corporate leaders a high level Advisory Board has been formed. The ICLAB members list is given below:


Mr. Asad Jaffar
Chairman & CEO, Phillips Pakistan Limited

Previously held senior positions in Phillips in Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and Pakistan. Further, Mr. Jaffar has served in ICI Pakistan Limited at senior positions. He holds BE degree in electrical engineering from NED and MBA from Imperial College London.

Ms Ayesha Aziz
CEO, Pak Brunei Investment Company Ltd.

Previously she served as the Chief Executive Officer of Pak Oman Asset Management Company. She has also served as an Independent Director of Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited. She has been engaged as a Director of Japan Power Generation. She was al employed at Standard Chartered Bank India. Ms Ayesha is an MBA from IBA and holds CFA, as well.
Mr. Khalid Rehman
Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director, SSGC, Pakistan

His professional experience spans over 35 years in senior management positions in oil and gas and banking industries and the accounting profession in Pakistan and abroad, including Europe and Far East. He worked in United Kingdom and Hong Kong for 17 years. He worked in Pakistan Petroleum Limited for around 20 years in senior positions including Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Deputy Managing Director, Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary. He is follow member of Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Further, he holds Post Graduate Qualification from University of East London.




Mr Ruhail Mohammad
CEO, Engro Polymer & Chemicals Limited

Previously he has served as the Senior Vice President and CFO of Engro Corp and also the CEO of Engro Powergen Limited. Prior to his association with Engro, he has worked in various senior positions in UAE and Europe. He holds MBA from IBA.


Mr. Tariq Wajid
Managing Director & GM, Martin Dow

Mr. Tariq was previously associated, as Managing Director and GM Sanofi-Aventis Pakistan. He has been Marketing Company President of Pharmacia and Upjohin in Hong Kong as well as in Pakistan. He holds MBA IBA Karachi and from Boston University. He has been on the board of various organizations.
Mr. Javed Ahmed
MD and CEO of Jubilee Life Insurance Company Ltd

He has been associated with Jubilee Life since 1997. In 1999, he was made responsible for Business Development as Head of Sales & Marketing. He was elevated as the Managing Director and CEO in 2003. Prior to joining Jubilee Life, he was associated with EFU Life for 4 years and State Life for 7 years. Mr. Ahmed is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (USA), Associate of Institute of Actuaries (Australia) and Fellow of the Pakistan Society of Actuaries.


Mr. Najam Ali
CEO, Next Capital

Mr Najam has over 23 years of rich experience of working in different capacities in Pakistan's capital markets. Prior to forming Next Capital Limited, he served as the Chief Executive Officer at JS Investments Limited. Mr. Najam was also the founding Chief Executive Officer of the Central Depository Company (CDC). He has worked with Fidelity Investment Bank as a Group Financial Controller and Head of Money and Capital Markets.

He has also qualified as a Certified Public Accountant - USA and holds a Bachelor degree in Economics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA.


Mr. Nadeem Elahi
Managing Director, IBEX Global

He currently directly oversees TRG's offshore portfolio operations in Pakistan and has overall responsibility for global offshore portfolio operations. Before joining TRG, Nadeem co-founded FTA Direct Inc., a provider of internet-based, supply-chain solutions for the global textiles industry based in New York. Earlier, Nadeem served as Director of Manufacturing at Tanveer Textiles, a textile manufacturing business held by his family. He received his AB from Brown University in Mathematics and Economics, and his MBA from the Harvard Business School.


Syed Nadeem Hussain
CEO, Tameer Microfinance Bank Limited.

He has spent 27 years at Citigroup, and served as Country Manager for Iraq Operations within the corporate banking and investment division. Mr. Hussain was also the Country Risk Manager at Citigroup in Hong Kong and China, where he was involved in establishing a liquidity and asset protection program. He was the Chairman of the Overseas Chamber of Commerce of Pakistan. Mr. Hussain has earned a B.A. in Economics and Accounting from Muhlenberg College in 1979.


Mr. Abrar Hasan
CEO, National Foods Limited (NFL)

He has been with NFL since 1993, where he was later appointed as Chief Executive. Prior to his joining NFL, Mr. Abrar Hasan was Plant Director at Precision Rubber Products Limited. He is truly the driving force behind his team of skilled professionals at NFL.

Mr. Abrar Hasan graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Management with a minor in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University, Indiana, USA.

Mr. Salman Burney
Director, House of Habib

He started his career with ICI and worked with them in a number of businesses including Chemicals and Fibres, as Regional Personnel Manager for Africl and Middle East, and as General Manager, Agrochemicals and Seeds. He was appointed Managing Director of SmithKline Beecham in 1997 and is the CEO of GIaxoSmithKline Pakistan. Mr. Salman Burney has a degree in Economics from Cambridge, and was a founding Trustee of the Oxford & Cambridge Society Educational Trust.


Dr. Zeelaf Munir
MD & CEO English Biscuit Manufacturing

Dr. Zeelaf B. Munir joined EBM, family-owned and managed business, in 2010. Dr. Zeelaf has over twenty years of professional experience in diverse fields from healthcare to business. She is a coveted speaker and has been a frequent invitee at conferences and in the electronic media, both in the US and in Pakistan. Dr. Zeelaf completed her medical degree from Dow Medical University. She also received a Master's degree majoring in Health Finance & Management from Johns Hopkins University.


Mr. Sohail P. Ahmed
Vice Chairman, House of Habib

He has been the Chief Executive of Naya Daur Motors and Mack Trucks, under Ministry of Production and of Allwin Engineering, Agriauto Industries Ltd, Thal Limited in the private sector. Currently He is also Chairman of Pakistan Auto Sector Skill Development Company and Vocational Training Centre for Women, Korangi. He is a Director on many Boards in public & private sectors. He holds B.E. from NED and Advance Management qualification from INSEAD, France.


Mr. Hasan A. Bilgrami
CEO, BankIslami

Previously he worked as the Head of Asset Management with the National Investment Trust (NIT), as Country Manager Consumer Banking & Corporate Business with Gulf Commercial Bank, as General Manager Corporate Finance with ORIX Investment Bank and as Director and Head of Corporate Finance with Khalid Majid Husain Rahman, then a member firm of Deloitte & Touche. Mr. Bilgrami has overall 30 years of professional experience.

Mr. Bilgrami graduated in Commerce from Karachi University and is a Fellow member of the ICMAP, Pakistan.


Mr. Sheikh Imran ul Haque

He began his career in 1979 with Niagara Mohawk and worked with Bechtel in the USA in 1981 before joining Exxon Chemical Pakistan Ltd in 1987 after a business development stint in the construction sector of Iraq and Pakistan.

He was chief executive officer of Engro Vopak Terminal Limited Sheikh Imran ul Haque is a magna cum laude Mechanical Engineer graduate with Master of Science in Industrial Engineering (major in Engineering Administration)-both from Syracuse University, New York.


Mr. Waqar A. Malik
Chairman (Independent, Non-Executive Director)

He has an illustrious career spanning over 27 years with Fortune 500 companies. His career with the ICI Plc group based in the UK and then Akzo Nobel in the Netherlands provided opportunity to work in Europe and the Americas. In Pakistan, he was the Country Head of ICI Plc's operations. For over 10 years he served as the CEO of ICI Pakistan Limited. He is a fellow of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and is also an Alumnus of the Harvard Business School and INSEAD.
