Call for Proposals

Teaching and Learning Symposium seeks to celebrate innovative teaching practices, encourage scholarly exchange, and strengthen collaboration among the founding institutions comprising IBA Karachi, Aga Khan University and Habib University in advancing excellence in higher education.

The Founding Consortium invites higher education institutions from across Pakistan to submit poster presentations that showcase innovative teaching practices, educational research, classroom experiences, and institutional initiatives that contribute to advancing excellence in higher education.

Submission Track: Visual Voices

The track provides a platform for faculty members, instructional designers, educational developers, researchers, teaching assistants, students, and other higher education professionals from institutions across Pakistan to share ideas, foster scholarly exchange, and inspire innovation in teaching and learning.

To enhance participant engagement, each accepted poster will include a QR code linking to a short audio or video presentation by the presenter, enabling participants to explore the objectives, methodology, key outcomes, and practical implications of the work at their own pace.

Indicative Themes

Submissions are encouraged (but not limited) to the following themes:

• Artificial Intelligence in Teaching, Learning, and Active Pedagogy
• Assessment, Feedback, Academic Integrity, and Constructive Alignment in the Age of AI
• Inclusive, Equitable, and Student-Centered Learning
• Enabling Learners for the Real World in the Age of AI
• Digital Innovation and Flexible Learning Environments
• Leadership, Policy, and Institutional Transformation
• Implementation of AI Policies and Frameworks
• Societal implications of AI-dependent learning

Eligibility

Poster submissions are invited from:

• Faculty members
• Teaching Assistants
• Students
• Instructional Designers
• Educational Developers
• Researchers

Academic Professionals from higher education institutions across Pakistan.

Submission Requirements

Posters should clearly communicate an innovative teaching practice, educational research study, institutional initiative, classroom intervention, or scholarly work that contributes to enhancing teaching and learning in higher education.

Each submission must include:

• Poster Title
• Relevant Symposium Theme
• Poster Summary (Maximum 300 words) outlining the background, objectives, approach, key outcomes, and significance of the work.
• Keywords
• Presenter(s): Name(s), designation, department, institution, and email address.
• Corresponding Presenter: Email address and contact number.
• Statement of Consent

Following acceptance, presenters will be required to submit:

• A print-ready poster in the prescribed format (specifications will be shared with accepted presenters).
• A 2-3 minute audio or video presentation explaining the poster, which will be accessible through a QR code displayed on the poster.

Submission Process

Please submit your poster proposal through the online submission portal. Only complete submissions received by the deadline will be considered.

Review Process

All submissions will undergo a peer review by the Symposium Scientific Committee.

Best Poster Awards

Outstanding posters will be recognized through the Best Poster Awards. Award-winning posters will be selected by an independent panel of judges comprising faculty members, students, and invited experts using predefined evaluation criteria.

Submission Policies

• Posters may present completed projects, work in progress, classroom innovations, institutional initiatives, or educational research.
• A presenter may submit multiple poster proposals; however, acceptance will be based on the review process and programme capacity.
• At least one presenter of each accepted poster must register for and participate in the symposium.
• Minor editorial changes may be made to accepted submissions for publication in the symposium programme.
• By submitting the statement of consent, presenters grant the Symposium Organizing Committee permission to publish the poster title, summary, presenter information, and related details in symposium publications and promotional materials.
• Presenters are responsible for obtaining permission to use any copyrighted material included in their posters.

Important Dates

• Proposal Submission Deadline: 06 September 2026
• Notification of Acceptance: 21 September 2026
• Publication of Final Programme: 28 September 2026
• Symposium: 19 October 2026
