IBA faculty reviews political memoirs of a former Minister and Senator

Dr. Nadya Chishty-Mujahid, Assistant Professor, Department of Social Sciences and Liberal Arts, School of Economics and Social Sciences, recently penned a book review for a book titled, "But, Prime Minister...": Interactions with Benazir Bhutto, the world's first Muslim woman Prime Minister. The book is published by Paramount Books and authored by renowned writer, filmmaker and former Minister and Senator, Mr. Javed Jabbar.

The book is an insider's account of his association with Benazir Bhutto, the world's first Muslim woman Prime Minister. The book delves into how Mr. Jabbar always diffused tense situations and guided the PM in the interests of both her and good governance in an extremely patriarchal society.

IBA faculty authors a monograph on twinship

Dr. Nadya Chishty-Mujahid, Assistant Professor, Department of Social Sciences and Liberal Arts, School of Economics and Social Sciences, has published her second monograph on twins which is also her tenth book with the Edwin Mellen Press. The monograph is titled 'Fraternal Male Twinship in History, Society, Fiction and Entertainment'.

Previously, Dr. Chishty-Mujahid wrote a book titled 'A Political Chess King', which ranked eighty-seventh on Edwin Mellen's top 100, prizewinning book list.


  • Dr. Nadya Chishty-Mujahid published a creative play titled The Political Chess King: A Drama through the Edwin Mellen Press in late June 2020. The work is based on student politics at a fictional Pakistani college campus.
  • In early 2020, Oxford University Press placed her on a three-member jury that judges Pakistani creative writing in English for the Getz Pharma prize, which is announced at the Karachi Literature Festival each year. This is an honor for her. This year's prize was awarded to Mohammed Hanif for the novel Red Birds.
