IBA Welcomes New Graduate Students at R-2 SMCS Orientation 2026
July 8, 2026: IBA welcomed the incoming cohort to the R2 Graduate Orientation 2026 hosted by the School of Mathematics and Computer Science (SMCS), bringing together more than 85 participants for an engaging introduction to graduate studies.
The orientation provided an overview of the MS Computer Science (MSCS), MS Data Science (MSDS), and MS Artificial Intelligence (MSAI) programs, covering curriculum, academic expectations, research opportunities, and campus life. Faculty members, including Dr. Shahid Hussain, Chairperson, Department of Computer Science; Dr. Atif Tahir, Professor and Program Coordinator for Graduate and Postgraduate Programs; Dr. Sajjad Haider, Professor of Computer Science and Head of the AI Lab; and Dr. Rizwan Ahmed Khan, Professor of Computer Science, engaged participants through interactive discussions, shared program insights, and addressed their questions.
The session also provided an opportunity for newly admitted students to connect with faculty, explore the academic environment, and begin their graduate journey as part of the SMCS community.
