COVID-19 GUIDELINES: On-campus SOPs for Staff

With the institute re-opening on Tuesday, September 15, 2020, there is a high influx of students and staff returning to the campuses. While the Covid-19 has not relinquished completely, it is essential for all stakeholders, especially the staff, to observe social distancing and other necessary SOPs issued by the WHO and Government of Sindh.

While researching the precautionary measures taken by workplaces across the nation, there are certain processes that are crucial for avoiding any chances of spread within the institution. In this light, we would like to suggest a few processes that we believe are required to be implemented on urgent basis:

  • Ensure mandatory use of wearing face mask for all employees at all times.
  • Avoid mass gatherings (4 or more people) and maintain at least 6-feet or 2-meter distance between every individual.
  • Minimize face-to-face contact between employees and encourage telecommunication within workplace.
  • Strongly discourage handshaking, hugging, or any other form of greeting that requires contact. Encourage distant greetings.
  • If an employee is suspected or confirmed to have Covid-19, it is mandatory for the employee to stay home, get a Covid-19 test and observe home isolation.
  • Increase ventilation in workplaces.
  • Kindly schedule and share a work plan if your department is not able to observe some of the points above. However, departmental and individual's responsibilities should also be part of the plan.

It is hereby requested to assist in strict implementation of the above-mentioned SOPs and practice safe workplace etiquette.
