SMCS R1 Undergraduate Orientation 2026 Successfully Conducted

April 17, 2026: IBA’s School of Mathematics and Computer Science (SMCS) successfully conducted the R1 Undergraduate Orientation 2026 on April 17, 2026. The event witnessed an overwhelming response, with a total of 425 attendees, including students and their parents, resulting in a full and vibrant house.

The orientation session provided a comprehensive introduction to the BS Computer Science and BS Mathematics programs, covering key aspects such as curriculum, academic expectations, and campus life. Faculty members actively engaged with the audience, offering valuable insights and addressing queries to ensure a smooth transition for the incoming cohort. Notably, Dr. Shahid Hussain, Associate Professor and Chairperson, Department of Computer Science; Dr. Muhammad Sheraz, Associate Professor and Program Coordinator, BS Mathematics; and Dr. Amir Bashir, Chairperson, Department of Mathematical Sciences, along with other faculty members, played an active role in interacting with students and contributing to the success of the session.

The event served as an important platform to warmly welcome the new batch, foster early connections, and instill a sense of belonging within the SMCS community.
