Students Town Hall with the Executive Director

October 23, 2020: A Students Town Hall with the Executive Director, Dr. S Akbar Zaidi, was organized at the G&T Auditorium, Main Campus. A large number of students attended in person while many joined virtually via Zoom. The members of the Student Liaison Committee, the Anti-Harassment Committee, the Disciplinary Committee, senior faculty members, and the Registrar were present for the interactive session.

The Town Hall was primarily targeted towards students in their second year and above. The purpose of the Town Hall was to hear the concerns being faced by the students and inform the students about the recent measures taken by the Administration.

The ED encouraged the students to be proactive in providing suggestions to make the IBA a safer, stronger, and fun place to learn. He expressed his desire for inclusivity of the students in and outside the classroom. The Registrar, Dr. Mohammad Asad Ilyas apprised the students of the latest steps taken for improvement in accessibility and engagement within various tiers at the IBA, Safety and Health management system in place and the establishment of the Students Liaison Office. Later, the students were invited to ask questions and a candid discussion ensued. The students emphasized the need to work with the administration for the well-being of individuals and the institution.

The Executive Director had planned a Town Hall with all students to be organized once the Fall semester opened. However, due to the spread of COVID-19, the meeting had to be postponed. A separate Town Hall for the freshmen will be arranged soon.
