Successfully Defends PhD in Computer Science at IBA-SMCS (April 13, 2026)

Ms. Sumaira Saeed, a PhD scholar in the Department of Computer Science at IBA Karachi, has successfully defended her PhD in Computer Science. Her thesis, titled “A Hybrid Framework for Semantic Textual Similarity and Explanation Generation,” was supervised by Dr. Sajjad Haider, Professor, Department of Computer Science at IBA-SMCS.

The defense was attended by faculty members from the Department of Computer Science and evaluated by Dr. Seema Latif, HOD and Associate Professor, AI & DS-DOC, School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS), National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), and Dr. Kamran Malik, Professor, Department of Data Science, Punjab University College of Information Technology (PUCIT), University of the Punjab.
