FAQs

1. Is there any form to apply for this competition?

No, there is no form. You have to be creative in your submission. Please send it as an attachment to the email. Remember to mention your name, age, gender, institutional affiliation, telephone number, address and email id.

2. Can I submit to two categories (poetry and creative writing) for the competition 'Poverty through your eyes'?

Yes, you can submit to more than one category.

3. Can the poetry or creative writing include Urdu words?

Yes, it can.

4. How do I register for this competition? Is there any fee for it?

You do not have to register for the competition and there is no submission fee. You just have to email us your submission with your full name, age, gender, institutional affiliation, telephone number, address and email id.

5. In a given theme, will I have to answer all the three questions in a video/essay or any one of them for 2 minutes.

IBA Social Inequality Lab is managing one of the themes "Poverty through your eyes". There are 3 sub-themes in it. You have to choose anyone sub theme for your submission.

6. Where should I send the submission for the theme "Poverty through your eyes"?

For the theme "Poverty through your eyes" you have to send your submission to youthvoices@iba.edu.pk

7. What is the word limit for the poetry category?

It is the same as the essay i.e. 800 words.

8. Is this open for IBA alumni as well?

Yes, it is open for all Pakistanis aged 16 to 25.

9. Is this open for people who are no longer students but are of age less than 25 years?

Yes, it is.

10. The topic has three sub themes so do we have to choose 1 or all three when writing the essay.

You have to choose any one sub-theme.

11. Do the three sub-themes only apply to essay or other creative pieces too?

It applies to other pieces too.
